Motocicleta

Brazilians love their motorcycles, riding everything from the ubiquitous 125cc Honda "CG" to big Harley Davidson cruisers. Unlike in North America, motorcycles are a necessary part life here, cars being prohibitively expensive for many. The city is "bike friendly", but it takes courage and determination to ride them; traffic here can be murder. On my last night here, I saw the aftermath of an high-speed collision between a bike and a car. The result was not pretty.

15. Downtown parking? Not a problem!!

Still, there is that unbreakable bond between bikers everywhere. At the friendly Cantina da Cida on Rua Antonio de Albuquerque, a group of motorcycle enthusiasts meet once a week, socializing over delicious food and good beer.
