Life in the City

If there's one thing to do in Belo Horizonte, it is shopping!! Like any modern city, the malls here rival those anywhere. Yet what's nice are actually the endless number of small shops which line the city, from food stalls (lanchonettes), shoe stores, clothing outlets, one hour photo, you name it, they got it.


7. Small shops line the city


I was a bit suprised when I turned a busy corner in the middle of the city to find an open market being setup for the day. A myriad of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and fish were being unloaded from trucks to be sold locally.

And what's Brazil without soccer? Pickup games are played everywhere. These barefooted warriors are quite good, the small size of the field force them to play with finesse, lest the ball go out of bounds with every kick.
